Did you catch the GOP presidential debate last week? If not, let me catch you up on the candidates:
Two of the five deny the existence of climate change altogether.
The three who do acknowledge it refuse to admit it’s being caused by fossil fuels.
ALL of them have slammed our country's current policies combating climate change.
This is what we’re up against, folks — GOP leadership is so deep in the pocket of Big Oil and Gas that even if they’re willing to admit climate change is happening, they won’t admit who’s responsible or take action.
As one example, nearly all of the candidates have taken aim at the electric vehicle tax credits we won as part of the Inflation Reduction Act last year:
Ron DeSantis has called the tax credit “the federal government’s attempt to force people to buy electric vehicles.” Vivek Ramaswamy has called it an effort of the “climate cult.” We’re facing real opposition to common sense pro-climate solutions.
Thanks to your help in 2022, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 118th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future. But if you'd like to receive fewer emails, we understand. You can click here to only get our most important messages, or you can unsubscribe.
