John, I’m writing to ask you to make a donation of $10 or any amount to help send me to Congress. But first, an important update:

I have said that I will make acting on the climate crisis a priority in Congress.

But actions speak louder than words — which is why I just signed a pledge to forego campaign contributions from the fossil fuel industry. I urge every candidate in the race for California’s 30th District to do the same:

Oil, gas, and coal companies don’t just drive climate change emissions and poison our planet — they corrupt our democracy, too.

Every year, the fossil fuel industry donates millions of dollars to members of Congress, buying their silence or their outright opposition to climate action.

As Californians, we know better than most: Climate change is real, it’s dangerous, and it’s already here. We can’t afford to have a representative who is not 100% dedicated to protecting our homes, our democracy, and our planet.

As I’ve said, the field to fill Adam Schiff’s shoes in Congress is vast, with over a dozen candidates. Unlike other candidates in this race, I can’t write my campaign a massive check, and I have no interest in begging for corporate PAC money.

Together, we’re building a campaign of, by, and for the people of California. Can you chip in $10 to ensure we have a representative who will put our health, safety, and democracy over fossil fuel profits?
