Joe Manchin is not running for re-election. While you may be wondering why I’m writing to you about West Virginia’s senator, I think this headline sums it up pretty well:

Prior to Manchin's announcement, Democrats knew we couldn’t afford to lose any of our Senate seats if we wanted to hold on and expand our majority. Now? We have no room whatsoever to lose seats – which was already difficult enough since Democrats are defending seats in battleground states across the nation. Not only that, but Republicans are already bending over backwards to flip his seat (which might not be that difficult considering West Virginia is a deeply red state).

I refuse to let the GOP run away with this election. Now that the race for Senate control has become even closer than it already was, I’m asking: Can you donate anything you can afford before our mid-month fundraising deadline at midnight tonight so I can spend the next year helping elect Democrats to the Senate so we can protect our majority?
