Hi John,
You need to see how Liberal MPs are getting mocked by our campus organization students for chickening out on taking the carbon tax off all home heating.
One of our board members said it was “the best part of his week” so we thought you’d like it too.
First, here’s some quick background.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took carbon taxes off furnace oil to help out folks in Atlantic Canada and he gave all the credit to his “amazing” MPs on the East Coast.
The rest of the country got left out.
The NDP joined the Conservatives to vote in favour of taking carbon taxes off of all home heating. But the Bloc voted against the motion. And not a single Liberal MP was “amazing” enough to vote to give people a break on home heating.
That’s when our student organization turned up the heat in a hilarious way.
These students are putting on chicken costumes and posting social media videos in front of Liberal MP offices. Politicians can’t stand being ridiculed. It’s a searing way to hold them accountable.

But here’s the really important thing: when young people take a stand, they become the next generation of leaders. You can see it all around us.
Our Senior Digital Director, Jeff Bowes, started off as an intern chasing former Ontario premier Dalton McGuinty dressed as Fibber – our long-nosed accountability mascot – after the premier broke his promise not to raise taxes. Our Prairie Director, Gage Haubrich, also spent time in the Fibber costume as an intern. Our Quebec Director, Nicolas Gagnon, started off in our campus organization and he’s donned the Porky costume to make fun of politicians for being at the taxpayer trough.
The CTF has campus clubs at universities across Canada. Those students start off doing hilarious stunts. But they grow up so fast and the next thing you know, they’re in media scrums telling the government how to fix the budget.

Hopefully seeing students in chicken suits in front of Liberal MP offices brightens your week as much as it did for our board member.
Thanks for all of your support – you’re holding their feet to the fire.

Vice-President of Communications for the Canadian Taxpayers Federation
PS: I do my best to support these students because they’re really good and someday one of them will probably be my boss. You can support the next generation of leaders by donating now: [link removed] ([link removed] > 1|*true&status2=
