In just a moment, I am going to ask you to donate to Washington Conservation Action (WCA) and help support their ongoing work. First, let me explain why this is important and the impact your gift will have on WCA.

Since the 1960s, when it was known as Washington Environmental Council and Washington Conservation Voters, Washington Conservation Action has fought fiercely for environmental protections statewide that benefit all of us. 

WCA knows there can be no environmental progress without environmental justice. It is a commitment and priority I share. Thanks to the deep-rooted dedication of WCA leaders and members, Washington State is at the forefront of turning environmental priorities into action and law.

Thanks to the work of Washington Conservation Action, our state has the Department of Ecology, the Environmental Policy Act, the Forest Practices Act, the Clean Cars Bill, the Climate Commitment Act, the Shoreline Management Act, the Clean Energy Transformation Act, along with other significant legislation and funding.

As Attorney General, I was proud to unveil and implement our statewide ‘Environmental Justice Initiative’ in 2020.  

Environmental justice recognizes the right of all people, regardless of race, color, national origin, or income, to a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment. Today, the Attorney General’s Office continues building on this initiative and incorporating environmental justice principles and actions across every government agency.

Washington Conservation Action knows I will continue the Environmental Justice Initiative as Governor. It is a cornerstone of why I am running — and I look forward to partnering with WCA in the years ahead as we continue protecting people and nature as one. 

WCA is an essential part of the work to create and put into action the systemic changes we urgently need in our politics, our environment, our communities, and our economy. 
They are the driving force in advancing bold progress for people and the environment.  

That’s why I am asking you to contribute to the ongoing work of Washington Conservation Action so that, together, we can solve the existential challenges we face by:

• Making polluters pay for the harm they cause.
• Counting every vote.
• Ensuring those most impacted by the climate crisis are a part of the solutions.
• Preparing communities to lessen impacts of drought and wildfire.
