[Join us for International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day on Saturday, November 18, 2023]([link removed])

This Saturday, November 18, thousands of people will gather at events around the world for [International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day]([link removed]). This annual occasion, also known as Survivor Day, is a special opportunity for those who have been affected by suicide to connect with each other, and find strength and hope through community. There's still time to [register for an event near you]([link removed]).

AFSP also observes Día de Esperanza, or Day of Hope, which takes place just one day before Survivor Day on November 17, and offers support specifically for Hispanic and Latinx communities that have been affected by suicide loss.

In addition to in-person Survivor Day events, AFSP will host two virtual events:

Survivor Day Live will feature a screening of an AFSP-produced documentary, Healing Together: Culture, Community and Suicide Loss, which explores how three families navigated the loss of their loved ones. After the screening, there will be a panel discussion with several loss survivors, exploring their experiences and what set them on a pathway toward healing. Tune into Survivor Day Live at 7pm ET on Saturday, November 18, at [facebook.com/afspnational]([link removed]) or [youtube.com/afspnational]([link removed])

Día de Esperanza (Day of Hope) will feature a panel discussion among three survivors of suicide loss, each with a powerful perspective on mental health and suicide prevention in Hispanic and Latinx culture. The conversation will consider how these communities face specific challenges –– such as stigma surrounding suicide, and the impact of cultural beliefs on understanding around mental health –– and will also consider strategies for overcoming those challenges by encouraging open and honest dialogue. Día de Esperanza is a unique opportunity for those who have been affected by suicide loss to find connection, understanding, and hope through shared cultural experience. Tune in at 4pm ET on Friday, November 17, at [facebook.com/afspnational]([link removed]) or [youtube.com/afspnational]([link removed])

We hope you'll join us, and our AFSP community members all over the world, for these inspiring events.
