Business Dynamics Statistics Interactive Data Visualization Tool Updated

Today the U.S. Census Bureau announced an update of the Business Dynamics Statistics (BDS) interactive data visualization tool, BDS Explorer [ [link removed] ] version 1.23.2. The Explorer tool provides access to the entire BDS time series, covering the years 1978 to 2021, via line charts, bar charts, and thematic maps. The application's intuitive dashboard allows for the construction of tables and charts to compare and sort measures of business dynamism.

Version 1.23.2 allows data users to view “normalized” data with the addition of "index "and "share "features. "Index "allows the data to be indexed back to the earliest selected year. "Share" allows the data user to view the percentage share of a characteristic compared to the total for all characteristics within that category.
