Lt. Gov. Gilchrist Statement on Congressman Dan Kildee’s Announcement to Not Seek Re-Election 

LANSING, Mich. – Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II issued the following statement after Congressman Dan Kildee announced his decision to not seek re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives at the end of the current term on January 3, 2025.  

“Congressman Kildee is a model public servant.  

“He fights for his community and stands tall for those who do not have a voice. Whether it’s taking on tough fights in Congress or winning tangible investments for people back home in Michigan, Dan gets it done.  

“Congressman Kildee has been a friend, mentor, and shining example of what it means to be a committed public servant. I am honored to have had a chance to work with him on the issues that matter most to families in Flint and across Genesee County. He’s a strong leader who made Michigan a better place.”
