House Republicans voted in MAGA Mike Johnson as speaker after weeks of stalling the chamber from doing any legislative work — all while a government shutdown crept closer and closer.

This stalling comes as no surprise, John. Republicans have shoehorned their national abortion ban into  every funding bill they could prior to the deadline, despite knowing they won't reach the necessary vote threshold.

We've said it before and we'll say it again: A Republican majority led by Speaker Johnson is one that is willing to hold our government captive to prioritize their draconian anti-choice platform.
