I’m excited to announce that I am officially running for the open seat in the 6th Congressional District to be your voice in Washington, DC.

As State Senator representing the 26th legislative district – from the Tacoma Narrows Bridge to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, from Lakebay to Olalla – I have worked to deliver for this community by protecting reproductive freedom, lowering healthcare costs and bridge tolls, supporting local business, and keeping our neighborhoods safe. I have taken your stories to Olympia and worked to make our lives better, and I’m ready to take your stories to DC to continue serving our communities.

My vision for Washington’s 6th Congressional District is driven by my life story. Growing up the daughter of union workers, my family relied on Medicaid to provide critical care for my sister, who was born with complex disabilities. We need a leader in Congress who has known and lived the real struggles people are facing every day on the Peninsulas.

This is where I was born and raised; where my family got by with the help of neighbors and critical services; where I graduated from South Kitsap High School; where I still live in Bremerton with my spouse Alison; and where I have served in the State Senate for the last five years. I understand these struggles firsthand and I am deeply driven to deliver real solutions.
