Hello John,
Did you get a chance to read the email I sent to you on Thursday? I didn't want you to miss it, it's too important.
Simply put - Shell is suing Greenpeace - trying to silence us by threatening an enormous damages claim for $8.6 million. We need all the help we can get to fight them – are you in?

We’ve been overwhelmed by the incredible show of support, from positive comments on social media, calls to our office to ask how they can help, and celebrities outraged by the audacity of Shell’s extreme action. Everyone is uniting to push back against Shell’s bullying tactics.
Since my first email, 4,307 people have donated to our ‘Stop Shell Appeal’, showing their determination to stop Shell’s sinister behaviour and fight for the safe and liveable planet we all deserve.
We still have a big funding gap. But if everyone who read this email donated, we’d be able to raise the money we need.
Let’s not let Shell silence us.We must put forward the strongest possible defence against Shell and its doubling down on fossil fuels. We are seeing the damaging impacts on people and the planet become more intense and more frequent because of this. Together we can hold Shell accountable.
This is where you come in John - will you join them by giving a gift today?

Thank you in advance for your support - it gives us much strength knowing that you have our back.

John, we're being sued by Shell. Yes, you read that right.
A top oil giant who raked in £5.1 billion in profits over the last 3 months [1] is suing us.
Our brave activists occupied their climate-wrecking oil and gas platform in the North Sea to stop them destroying the planet for profit. Now, they’re taking threatening us with a damages claim for $8.6 million – in a desperate attempt to strong-arm us into silence. If they beat us in court, it’s not only a win for oil companies but a win against anyone who dares to take a stand.
But we can’t let them get away with this. Shell may have millions in the bank, but we’ve got millions of people just like you on our side and if we unite, we can overpower Big Oil.
We need your help to fight them – can you chip in towards our STOP SHELL APPEAL?

Shell's claim against Greenpeace couldn’t be more out of touch with ordinary people. Across the UK, many of us are struggling to heat our homes – while Shell reports recording breaking profits year after year and causes climate catastrophe. Millions of us want a green future. But Shell shrunk their renewables department and ramped up fossil fuel production.
They’ve made it clear: they couldn’t care less about destroying our planet.
But with your help, we can stop them and show them that people and the planet come before profit. We’ve beaten Shell before and achieved some historic wins – even preventing them from drilling for oil in the Arctic [2].
And we can beat them again, but only with the help of people like you. Please, support us as we continue to fight for the planet and stand up to Big Oil giants.

They may have deep pockets and expensive lawyers, but they don’t have you. If everyone who reads this email donated just £10, we’d be able to raise over £1 million – to help us fight Shell in court and continue peacefully protesting against them.
Our voices are louder together. We’ll keep demanding urgent action and speaking up for everyone who cares about the future of our planet.
Every penny raised in our STOP SHELL APPEAL which could hold big oil to account. Please, help us take them on and win.

P.S. Shell’s extreme tactics are a way of trying to bully us into silence, so they can continue to rake in eye-watering profits. This is a historic legal challenge – please help us take them on: [link removed] and win.
