John,
I just got back from Somos 2023, the annual networking conference many pundits describe as the “Woodstock” of New York politics.
Every year in Puerto Rico, Somos is the place where relationships with political leaders from around the City and New York State are forged. It’s where we can move the needle forward and share about our work at the Office of the Comptroller.
Chatting with the team at Somos 2023!
This year at the conference, I was grateful to nerd out on policy and talk with fellow New York progressives about our agenda for the year ahead.
Throughout our conversations, one topic that kept coming up was how we need competent City government to meet the challenges we face.
Right now, I’m doing everything I can to make New York City run more justly and transparently. And, apropos of nothing, I wanted to reiterate how this is also true of my approach to campaign fundraising...
I do not accept campaign contributions from any corporate PACs or real estate PACs.
I do not accept campaign contributions from principals of for-profit development companies, or principals of for-profit development or private equity companies.
And, believe it or not, I do not accept campaign contributions from foreign nationals.
Instead, my work is powered by real New Yorkers like you, John.
I’ll never stop working to deliver effective City services, mitigate the risks we face, and invest in the more equitable, resilient, and innovative future. That's what every New Yorker deserves.
You’ve encouraged and supported me for over a decade, from my time on the City Council to the present. It’s with your support that I continue to work toward a better City government as New York City Comptroller!
Thanks,
Brad
