Republicans just kicked the can down the road another 45 days.

Good news and bad news, John.

 

The good news is, the government is NOT going to shut down this week.

 

The bad news is, we get to have this fight again in 45 days.

 

Republicans have once again kicked the can down the road another six weeks by passing a stopgap funding bill that keeps the government open for business through the end of the year.

 

This is not a functional way to run the most powerful democracy in the history of the earth.

 

I’m running for Congress because Republicans like my opponent refuse to take their jobs seriously. I need your help to flip this seat so we can take back the House majority next year and get back to work.

I’ve said it before: Funding the government is Congress’ single most important duty. It is the primary function of the legislative branch of government outlined in the United States Constitution – which Mike Simpson swore to uphold and protect.

 

It’s time to pass a REAL budget, put an end to these silly “stop gap” bills, and stop leaving American families in limbo.
