Half of the world’s population — 3.6 billion people — are already highly vulnerable to floods, droughts and other impacts of climate change. As global temperatures rise, so will this figure. The Global Goal on Adaptation (GGA), established under the 2015 international Paris Agreement on climate change, aims to build all communities’ resilience to escalating climate threats, but little progress has been made on its implementation.
