At a time when partisan divisiveness, negativity and misinformation are tearing at the fabric of our democracy, ranked choice voting is one of the top reforms to save it.
FairVote Minnesota is a national leader on education and advocacy for ranked choice voting, focusing on reform in Minnesota but with nationwide impact. Fresh off a second victory for ranked choice voting in Minnetonka where voters rejected repeal and voted in favor of ranked choice voting, this time with an even bigger margin, Minnesotans are once again demonstrating that they love ranked choice voting.
In addition to the ballot measure victory, five Minnesota cities – Minneapolis, St. Paul, St. Louis Park, Minnetonka, and Bloomington – used ranked choice voting to elect their local leaders, and the elections were a resounding success. There were diverse slates of candidates running and winning, issue-focused campaigns, and winning candidates that built broad coalitions of voter support. The elections ran smoothly in all five cities and were among the more than 21 cities across the country using RCV for local elections this year, from New Mexico to Utah to Minnesota to Maine.
We want to bring this critical reform to more communities in Minnesota. Your donation will help us educate voters, candidates, and elected officials about the many benefits of RCV and how it will strengthen democracy in our state and country.
We are ready. Are you with us? Join us by making a donation today.
