Back in 1964, Congress directed the Department of Education to establish Desegregation Centers to help public schools expedite desegregation.
But under Joe Biden, radical bureaucrats have abused their authority and taken these funds to create "Equity Assistance Centers" or EACs.
These EACs exist only to promote radical theories and education policies like Critical Race Theory, Gender Identity Theory, and other controversial and dangerous curriculums.
In most cases the EACs have even taken steps to undermine parents who want a say in their children’s education.
Over a year ago, the Defense of Freedom Institute (DFI) filed Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests asking for any and all records concerning the Equity Assistance Centers, related grants and reports, and communications with EAC grantees.
But since then, the Department of Education has not produced the records requested by DFI.
That's why we've filed a lawsuit demanding that they turn over these records so parents across the nation are aware of what their children might be exposed to.

Let me take a quick step back and introduce myself.
My name is Bob Eitel and I'm the Co-Founder and President of DFI.
DFI is an independent, nonprofit institute focused on providing thoughtful, conservative solutions to the challenges presented by education, workforce, labor, and employment issues.
We exist in part to defend the civil and constitutional rights of all Americans in the classroom and the workplace.
That includes protecting our children who are still students and their parents who have the right to direct the education of their children.
You see, the EACs that have been unlawfully created have been the epicenter for attacks on parental rights.
One such center - the Center for Education Equity - was discovered to have said:
"Parental pushback is a powerful force," it must be minimized by "making sure that any discussions on racism tie back to the curriculum. After all, how can they [parents] argue with that? Ok . . . they still find a way, but you get my point!"
You read that right - the EACs are encouraging educators to circumvent parental pushback and indoctrinate students without the knowledge of their parents.
