John, my path to being a candidate for Congress in MD-06 has not been typical. Here’s what has happened:
FIRST → I was brought up in foster care, raised in redlined neighborhoods, and had five children by my mid-twenties. Every system that was supposed to keep me safe failed me – but I didn’t give up. I defied the odds to become the first Black mayor of my hometown.
THEN → After dedicating my life to fighting for my community, I decided to take our fight for progress to the next level and announced my candidacy for Congress.
NOW → I’ve defied the odds once again to become the highest-raising Democratic candidate in the race last quarter. With you on my side, John, I have a real path to victory.
NEXT → Special interests and corporate PACs are already ramping up their efforts to buy this open congressional seat. They want to keep our district from getting the leadership we all need and deserve. I say, “not on my watch.”
John, we’ve proven we have what it takes to win this race. But now all eyes are on us to see if we can keep this momentum going – and with special interests working against us, it’s going to be even harder now.
With the future of MD-06 on the line, we can’t afford to miss any fundraising goal. So I have to ask: John, will you rush $25 before our mid-quarter deadline at midnight to support my people-powered campaign? >>>
