As we are moving into an election year, voting rights and democracy work are as important as ever. Our partners are doing cutting edge work to make sure elections are fair and equitable.
This week, we are highlighting 5 important projects related to voting and democracy that could really use your help ahead of the upcoming election year.

Help Black-led Community Groups Formalize their Organizations ([link removed])
Black Voters Matter
Black Voters Matter increases power in marginalized, predominantly Black communities. They work with organizations, mostly in southern states, doing on-the-ground work to create change. They need volunteers to help a number of partner organizations to incorporate and file for 501(c)(3) status. This is a remote opportunity, and lawyers may be barred in any state.

Assist a Mobilization Organization Ensure Compliance ([link removed])
Hub3
Hub3 helps organizations activate their community ambassador networks to expand voter outreach and increase civic engagement. They need a lawyer to help review their Ambassador Program and ensure it operates within applicable state laws. This is a remote opportunity, and lawyers may be barred in any state.
** 6-10 HOURS

Help a Mental Health Organization Expand ([link removed])
Culinary Hospitality Outreach and Wellness
CHOW, which works to support the mental wellness of individuals in the hospitality industry, wants to expand to other states in order to help save lives. Provide guidance on what they need to do to expand effectively outside Colorado. This is a remote opportunity, and lawyers may be barred in any state. Mentorship and supervision are provided.
** 6—10 HOURS

Advise Civil Rights Accelerator Participants ([link removed])
Rise Up, Inc.
Rise Justice Labs is a civil rights accelerator, which helps people pass their first law. They need short-term legal support to equip program participants. Help by supporting ongoing research, reviewing draft legislation, giving feedback, and answering questions related to nonprofit status. This is a remote opportunity, and lawyers may be barred in any state.
** 6-10 HOURS

Help Civil Rights Advocates Track Voting Rights Bills in Key States ([link removed])
Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights
Since 2021, there have been a number of restrictive voting laws passed in various states. The Leadership Conference wants to review all potential voting legislation in key states to prevent voter suppression bills from passing. Volunteers will be expected to monitor, provide summaries on bills, and provide support when necessary.
