Y'all, the new House Speaker, Mike Johnson, is as extreme as they get.

When news outlets began digging up all of the wild things he said before stepping into the national spotlight, one thing in particular caught our attention:

ABC News: Johnson is a deeply evangelical Christian. In a podcast recorded in September 2022, he indicted he does not believe in the separation of church and state.

This mirrors exactly what we’re seeing play out in our target state, Oklahoma, where Republicans are trying to undermine the separation of church and state in public education by approving a first-of-its-kind taxpayer-funded religious charter school.

Our grantee, the Oklahoma Parent Legislative Advocacy Coalition (OKPLAC) is leading the fight to stop this unconstitutional overreach — but they’re up against the GOP’s legal team.

We can overcome their efforts so long as we stick together. Can you pitch in before our final mid-quarter deadline of the year to help us combat GOP extremism across the Deep South, Appalachia, and the Plains?
