John, we cannot thank you enough for standing with us for the 2023 election cycle, and we are so proud to share a breakdown of the results. We are truly floored by what we were able to accomplish in an off-year cycle.
Last Tuesday, 79% of Vote Mama endorsed candidates won their elections -- including TWELVE candidates running for state legislature in Virginia, which contributed to the Democrats holding the Senate and flipping the House. This was a humiliating defeat to Gov. Youngkin’s far-right agenda and we did it with the power of pro-choice moms.
We also elected 2 amazing moms to the school board seats in Ohio and Pennsylvania where these mamas defeated extremist opponents from Moms for Liberty.
In Ohio, voters overwhelmingly VOTED YES to protecting abortion rights, including in counties like Butler County that went for Trump.
This year we celebrated FORTY-EIGHT wins:
- 65% are non-incumbents
- 42% identify as women of color 31% are first generation college graduates
- 17% flipped their seats from red to blue
- 17% are or will become the first moms to hold their seats
- 17% identify as LGBTQ+
We know from last Tuesday’s incredible results that our movement is working and even Republican voters think the attacks on our rights and reproductive freedoms have gone too far. Now, it’s time for us to build on this consensus and elect moms who can help us flip the House, as well as win other critical races up and down the ballot next year. But we can't do it without your continued support.
