Daily Caller ([link removed]) (11/13/23) reports: "The Biden administration is rolling out new talking points to reassure Americans of the promise of the electric vehicle (EV) market, but energy industry experts aren’t buying them. The Department of Energy (DOE) published rebuttals on Thursday in order to '[correct] the record on electric vehicle sales' and reject 'myths' about the industry, amid a flurry of headlines suggesting that the industry is on shaky footing. The DOE aimed to take down 'myths' about EV sales numbers, charging infrastructure, consumer interest and pricing, but the agency’s talking points do not directly address the main problems that critics have specifically identified with the industry, experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation. The Biden administration is aiming to have 50% of all new vehicle sales be EVs by 2030, aggressively regulating markets and spending billions to facilitate
that goal. However, a slew of problems, ranging from labor unrest to interest rates and inherent deficiencies of EVs, have combined to hinder the industry at a time when the Biden administration is counting on it to ramp up its EV production and sales. 'The truth is, familiarity with EVs seems to breed contempt, with most people having them as second, third or fourth vehicles so they will have something reliable,' Dan Kish, a senior research fellow for the Institute for Energy Research, told the DCNF. 'Since most of the buyers are wealthy, they’re the people who can afford EVs, unlike regular Americans who can no longer afford to buy a car, period, under Bidenomics.'"

(11/14/23) reports: "The US and China are set to make tandem statements Tuesday about their plans to combat global warming — a potential breakthrough ahead of critical UN climate talks in Dubai later this month. US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate Change John Kerry said the 'outcomes' of the two nation’s talks on the subject last week would be released 'in a few hours,' with statements from Beijing and Washington coming in parallel. 'We will both make statements about what we will do to live up to our responsibilities,' Kerry said midday Tuesday at the sustainable future forum in California. 'There are things we have agreed that I think are important.' The statements are set to be the culmination of months of talks between Kerry and his Chinese counterpart, Xie Zhenhua, including negotiations last week at the Sunnylands resort in Rancho Mirage, California. President Joe Biden is set to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic
Cooperation summit in San Francisco."

(11/15/23) "reports": "Once again, Democrats are at the forefront of making real progress in the battle against climate change. A party-wide commitment has been announced to use only 100% recycled talking points. "Earth first," said Nancy Pelosi at the hearing where the decision was unanimously embraced. Blue bins have been provided to all democratic politicians as receptacles for talking points to be disposed of, then processed and reused, producing no new ideas. Climatologists say the plan will reduce carbon emissions immeasurably. Republicans have refused to get on board, stating that the only talking points they'll be using will be produced by liquefied dinosaur bones and lots of fire. Others say nuclear talking points are a viable option that democrats refuse to embrace. Over 100 climate scientists signed a statement saying that irreversible climate disaster is inevitable if politicians do not stick to using only 100% recycled materials in their speech."
