John, lives of civilians are on the line in Gaza. The time to act is now.

Ongoing violence, bombardment and blockade has led to catastrophic humanitarian suffering for 2 million Palestinians — half of them children — who are now without safe water and vital medical services and face peril and disaster every day in Gaza.

With no access to safe water, food, electricity or fuel, the threats to civilians — from further escalation in the violence combined with severe restrictions on the flow of basic necessities — are acute. Civilians are unable to move in or out. The scale of this crisis demands an immediate humanitarian ceasefire and substantial aid relief now.

We at the IRC are working to scale up our response with partners. We are focused on immediate crucial healthcare services, as well as sanitation, safe water, and children and women's protection. As we scale up our response, I'm personally asking you, John, to take action for the sake of children and families all over the world.

Will you make a gift for families in crisis? Thanks to a generous donor, your gift will be 2x-matched during this season of generosity. >>

John, our only interest is the lives of civilians and how we can help them survive fighting that is increasingly intense and deadly.

As harsh weather looms, 95% of the population is unable to access safe water. The conditions are ripe for the spread of communicable and waterborne diseases — diseases that adversely affect children and lead to preventable deaths.

The population in Gaza also lacks access to electricity and food. Civilians are unable to move in or out — and a staggering 1.5 million people have been displaced into crowded settings.

The suffering there has already reached catastrophic levels — and it's set to get worse unless something changes immediately.

The situation is dire, but we are not without hope. Your gift today will go two times as far to help deliver urgently needed emergency supplies, clean water, health care and more to people in Gaza and around the world.

In this season of giving and gratitude, I hope you will join all of us at the IRC in helping make sure civilians in conflict across the world receive the aid they desperately need.
