Dear John,

With Give to the Max Day tomorrow, I want to tell you about a crucial initiative of Minnesota Family Institute dedicated to fighting for religious freedom (and for life!) in Minnesota: True North Legal.

I’d like to tell you why religious freedom needs your support on this Give to the Max Day. The fact is, some legislators in Minnesota are threatening religious freedom in ways that will almost certainly end up being settled in the court system. To give just one example, look at the bill passed earlier this year discriminating against Christian colleges and universities in Minnesota.

The past few years have proven something beyond all doubt: When the Legislature is hostile, religious freedom must be defended vigorously in the courts. True North Legal is hoping to bring on another full-time attorney and a legal assistant; this will expand our ability to defend the religious freedom of all Minnesotans in the legal sphere.

Sadly, there is so much demand for our services that we are having to turn DOWN requests for help from Minnesotans who need it. That shouldn’t be the case.
