A Pro-Growth Metro Means Both Business and Family Friendly


An environmental group that focuses specifically on creating and maintaining greenspaces around the country wants to turn vacant property owned by the city of Dallas into new parks.


That’s according to a presentation by the Trust for Public Land (TPL) and the city's parks and recreation department during Monday’s Parks, Trails and the Environment Committee meeting.

Crime in Dallas Drastically Outpaces Ft. Worth


The October MCBA Downtown Crime comparison is out, and the statistics remain largely unchanged. As can be see in the graphic below or on the MCBADFW.org website, Dallas is outpacing Ft. Worth nearly 10 to 1 for crimes such as Larceny, Property Destruction, Vehicle Theft, and Assault.


This is largely due to the fact that Ft. Worth has the appropriate number of police and Dallas does not. Simply higher levels of police presence on the streets are a deterrent to crimes happening in the first place.
