This year will be a “short” 60-day session. With this in mind, we want to help you talk to your legislators before the session even starts. Legislative aides and volunteers alike tell us that having pre-session meetings with legislators is a great way for constituents to develop a relationship with lawmakers. It’s also a way to highlight key environmental priorities we hope to win. Get ready for 2024 with a series of events hosted by Washington Conservation Action, Audubon Washington, and the Environmental Priorities Coalition, a group of 28 statewide organizations that each year collaborates on key legislation. Details:
Our team of organizers from the Environmental Priorities Coalition will provide an overview of the issues, and then train you on how to lobby your legislator – which sounds scary but is actually very simple and lawmakers are always very welcoming. We’ll connect you with fellow constituents so you can practice and prepare together. By participating in this event, you'll play a pivotal role in influencing your state legislators to reduce plastic pollution, to hold oil and gas companies accountable, and to make school buses emissions free! Together we can build a climate-resilient community here in Washington and beyond. Ready to Make a Difference? Register Now! Thanks for all you do, Kat Holmes (she/her) |
