In 2020, we as a nation faced a choice: between a threat to our democracy or a return to more stable politics. Our nation, by a large margin, chose to bring us back from the brink.
I supported President Joe Biden then. I thought he was the best choice for America, especially in the face of an authoritarian. And over the years, I have supported Biden’s policies. But it's not 2020 anymore.
We have seen the complete unraveling of our politics. Two elections in a row now, people have voted more because they hate the other candidate and less because they are so inspired by their own.
We’re dangerously close to going back. If we do nothing, former President Trump will win again.
In 2020, President Biden called himself a ‘bridge’ to a new ‘generation of leaders’ — I agree. He helped pull us back from the brink of authoritarianism, helped turn the page on the COVID-19 pandemic, and finally passed an infrastructure bill. But he hasn’t changed our politics — and we’re still living with the same broken system we have had for decades.
Much like my first race in 2018, I am running for President to help turn the page. It is time to embrace a new chapter in American Leadership. Everyone’s invited, and I would love for you to be a part of this journey.
