John, we have great news: |
Last week, Congresswoman Delia Ramirez was endorsed by PeaceAction! |
John, we launched the Congresswoman's reelection campaign almost two months ago. In that time, she's received endorsements from organizations who share our progressive values, groups like 1️⃣ Working Families Party, 2️⃣ League of Conservation Voters, 3️⃣ Reproductive Freedom for All and 4️⃣ Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC!
And we haven't even mentioned the number of fellow elected officials who've shown their support for Delia's campaign and who are excited to continue to work alongside her.
It's not hard to see why – since she stepped foot in DC, she's been a tireless advocate for benefits for veterans, comprehensive immigration reform, and affordable housing.
|
John, our coalition is growing, but it needs more work. |
Thank you, Team Delia for Congress |
Delia Ramirez has dedicated her life and career to public service and advocating for working families. She is a deeply rooted community leader and public servant whose values are informed by her upbringing as the daughter of Guatemalan immigrants.
In 2022, Delia was elected to represent Illinois’ 3rd Congressional District and became the first Latina Congresswoman in the Midwest. In just a few months in Congress, she has introduced legislation with bipartisan support to help student veterans, is co-leading the Dream and Promise Act, and is introducing legislation that gives tenants the right to organize. She serves as Vice Ranking Member of the Homeland Security Committee, and sits on the Veterans’ Affairs Committee. She is also a Board Member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) PAC, and CPC Special Order Hour Convener.
Delia also serves as Co-Chair of the Strengthening Democracy Task Force, as well as Vice Chair of the Equal Rights Amendment Caucus. She is a fighter who is determined to deliver for her constituents, and is working everyday to achieve equitable distribution of resources for Illinois infrastructure, clean energy, transportation, housing, healthcare, and jobs. She also advocates for federal resources so that Illinois may continue to be a welcoming state for new arrivals and asylum seekers.
