Hi there,

Last week, our nation commemorated the fifty-fifth anniversary of "Bloody Sunday," when leaders like Congressman John Lewis and other civil rights activists gathered in Selma, Alabama, to march to stand up for voting rights. The brutality and violence they encountered from law enforcement changed the course of American history.

It's 2020 and we're still fighting for our voting rights. And even as we fight this battle, we’re troubled by the fact that over 5 million African Americans remain unregistered to vote throughout the South and Midwest.

That’s why I’m excited to announce The Collective’s 2020 national voter registration project that seeks to register 500,000 Black voters in key states leading up to November!

The 2016 Presidential Election was decided by less than 80,000 votes. If we can close the registration gap in our community, Black voters will certainly decide the presidency and many other critical down-ballot elections.

Our voter registration program is going to cost upwards of $4 million and that’s why we need your support. Can you step up and make a contribution?

We'll be engaging with local black-led groups, hiring organizers in partnership with them, working with the faith community, supporting HBCU registration efforts and calling purged voters to try and re-engage them in the process. Like those protesters 55 years ago, we believe that every voice and every vote is critical.

Contribute here.

Thanks,

Andrew Gillum
