Team,
Today, I am announcing that I am withdrawing from the race for U.S. Senate and supporting Governor Steve Bullock’s campaign. This is the end of our campaign, but it’s only the beginning of the fight for our children’s future. It is time for us to unify our party and defeat Steve Daines.
It has been a great honor to run for Senate over the past five months, meeting with people from Wibaux to Wisdom and earning their support thanks to our shared values of hard work, resilience and fiercely protecting what matters, like family, health care, and our public lands. Together, we built a formidable campaign that showed the power of our grassroots movement, raising more than $650,000 and earning endorsements from over a dozen local leaders.
I am incredibly proud of what we’ve built together, and am so grateful to the nearly 5,000 supporters of our campaign. From the 8 year-old girl who emptied her piggy bank to donate to us, to the Native women leaders who invited me to collaborate on addressing MMIW, to the union leaders fighting for prevailing wages, to the young leaders of Forward Montana who voiced such enthusiasm about my campaign, to the ranchers across eastern Montana who shared their vision of the future of agriculture with me.
I want you to know that I’m here to stay.
Increasing access to affordable health care, protecting our public lands and beating Steve Daines are all deeply personal. I will remain in this fight and look forward to working directly with Montanans on behalf of Steve Bullock. The fight is not over and together we can defeat Steve Daines, help flip the Senate, and restore integrity and decency to Washington.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Now let’s keep going!
