How the Supreme Court could give hospitals the power to end Roe v. Wade ([link removed][UNIQID])
(Washington Post) It is simply not acceptable for us to allow women to be abandoned at the hospital door,” says Catherine Glenn Foster, president and CEO of Americans United for Life, the anti-abortion legal group that first introduced the model law that shaped the admitting privileges legislation in both Texas and Louisiana. “Even if it’s just one in 1,000 women who has a complication, one in 10,000 women. However many women it is, let’s save their lives. It’s hard to see a downside, says Foster: Why not just require all providers to have admitting privileges “Think of all the doctors out there who already have them,” she says. “It’s not that difficult. It’s really not.

Justices will decide if abortionists can sue on patients' behalf to overturn patient-protection rules ([link removed][UNIQID])
(Washington Examiner) I would not want my dentist to be able to litigate the health and safety protections that exist to protect me, the patient, from him. When a doctor files lawsuit after lawsuit to get out from under basic health and safety regulations that he’s repeatedly violated, he shouldn’t be understood to do so for the sake of his patient’s access to healthcare.

Greedy La. Abortion Providers Challenge Safety Law at Supreme Court ([link removed][UNIQID])
(CNS News) If the Supreme Court rules against Louisiana, the court will deal a devastating blow to advocates for women’s health and safety. They will prohibit states from ensuring that all patients have access to the same quality of care that an injured high school athlete would have. The health and safety complications that arise from abortion are no laughing matter. Women in these tragic situations deserve access to the best health care from qualified professionals. The Supreme Court should make it clear that substandard care is no longer acceptable and we expect more for women.
