In yet another disgusting attack on the only Palestinian American member of Congress, this week Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn falsely accused Rep. Rashida Tlaib of having ties to Hamas:

We need to have Rashida’s back: will you split a grassroots donation to her campaign and Justice Democrats to show you stand with her?

Not only is this a racist and baseless lie — it puts Rashida’s life in danger, as she already receives an influx of hate and death threats for demanding a ceasefire and calling for peace in Israel and Palestine.

It was just last week that Rashida was formally censured in Congress for speaking up for the human rights of all people, including Palestinians. In a just world, Blackburn would be censured for this outrageous and irresponsible attack on her colleague, but we know that’s not going to happen.

It just goes to show that the attacks on Rashida from both sides of the aisle are not ending anytime soon, and with the 2024 election less than one year away, we need to do everything we can to defend Rashida and protect her House seat.
