A news crew from the Czech Republic in San Francisco to cover the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit (APEC) were robbed at gunpoint on Sunday evening, losing thousands of dollars in equipment.

Bohumil Vostal told the San Francisco Chronicle that he had been capturing video of the city’s famed City Lights bookstore when he and his crew members were approached at around 5 pm by three masked assailants with guns drawn.

“They were heading at my camera man, aiming a gun at his stomach, and one at my head,” Vostal told the outlet.
