Y'all,

Last Tuesday, Texans all over the state -- particularly Black and Latino Texans -- faced unacceptable institutional barriers to the ballot box. What we saw was voter suppression in action, plain and simple.

Voting restrictions that are designed to target minority communities, like the closure of hundreds of polling sites in Black and Latino neighborhoods, are unacceptable. And we need to restore the Voting Rights Act so they can never happen again. Will you add your name to my petition if you agree?

I’m running for Senate to fight for all Texans -- no matter how they vote. But Sen. Cornyn led the charge AGAINST fixing the Voting Rights Act. Frankly, I’m of the opinion that if you need to keep people from voting to win an election, you probably shouldn’t be running for office at all.

I didn’t serve my country to come home and watch our constitutional rights be eroded in plain sight. I’m going to fight to fix the Voting Rights Act and protect every American’s right to vote -- but I need you by my side to help.
