BREAKING: The Supreme Court has adopted a new code of conduct following allegations of ethics lapses
John,
Yesterday, the Supreme Court took an important step forward by acknowledging their need for a code of conduct and adopting one for the first time.
While we’re happy that the Court’s new rules incorporate some important provisions that CREW suggested, we also have to share that the fight isn’t remotely over. Here’s why:
The rules adopted by the Court contain too many loopholes and gaps to be truly effective – not to mention, the code has *no* enforcement mechanism outside of each justice deciding how they apply for him or herself.
This is a good start, but much more must be done. Help CREW continue our work for meaningful ethics reform on the Supreme Court. Make a donation to CREW today →
