I’m Gerda, and I’m very proud of my little brother Josh. I want to take a couple minutes of your time to share why I know that Josh is the right person to serve as the next governor of North Carolina, and then, please consider making a donation to support his campaign.

It’s not always easy to picture your brother as a governor. I remember when Josh took his first steps and when he learned how to tie his shoes — but over the years, Josh has proven time and again that he is up for the challenge.

Our parents taught us that service to others is the highest calling. Our father was a civil rights attorney, who helped found the first integrated law firm in North Carolina. He stood up for what was right even when it wasn’t easy. My mother worked in public health and in countless ways serving the community and our state. They always encouraged us to do the same.

It’s why Josh has fought for North Carolinians as a consumer protection lawyer, state senator, and Attorney General.

The values that Josh and I share — including protecting women’s reproductive rights, making health care more affordable and accessible, and ensuring that our public schools have the resources they need — would be further undermined if we allow one of his extreme opponents to win.

Josh’s far-right opponents are pushing an agenda that puts their wealthy donor class and the special interests propping up their campaigns first. Not your neighbors and friends. Not our democracy or the fundamental rights we hold dear.

But the leading GOP candidate is frighteningly close to Josh in the polls and the race is too close for comfort. That’s why I’m reaching out now.
