U.S. Access Board Webinar: Emergency Transportable Housing

When a disaster strikes, survivors may need to relocate to emergency housing, including travel trailers, park models, manufactured housing, or other factory-built housing. It is crucial that disaster survivors with disabilities have access to these services as required under the Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The next webinar in the U.S. Access Board's free monthly series will take place December 7 from 2:30 ? 4:00 (ET) and review the scoping and technical requirements for residential dwelling units and the additional requirements or exceptions that apply specifically to emergency transportable housing units with mobility features and communication features. These requirements in the ABA Accessibility Guidelines ensure emergency transportable housing units are readily accessible to and usable by disaster survivors with disabilities.

For more information and to register, visit Great Lakes ADA Center?s Emergency Transportable Housing webinar webpage [ [link removed] ]. All webinars include video remote interpreting (VRI) and real-time captioning. Questions can be submitted in advance of the session or can be posed during the live webinar. Webinar attendees can earn continuing education credits. The webinar series is hosted by the ADA National Network in cooperation with the Board. Archived copies [ [link removed] ] of previous Board webinars are available on the site.
