John,

Yesterday, I launched my gubernatorial campaign — and I wanted to share a few thoughts after the first 24 hours.

When I launched my first campaign back in 2017, I was inspired to run because of the many stories I’d heard from our friends and neighbors facing healthcare challenges.

Today, like in 2017, I’m running because I want to improve the quality of life and increase opportunities for people across Virginia. Together, we can make our Commonwealth stronger for everyone who lives here.

Whether you live in Richmond, Danville, Norfolk, Leesburg, or Stanley - we can build a prosperous future for everyone. That means a stronger economy, safer communities, more job opportunities, fully funded schools, affordable housing, and lower healthcare costs.

In my first race, many pundits said I couldn’t win. But we proved them wrong — and I became the first Democrat to win VA-07 since 1968. I know how to win tough races and get things done, because I’ve been doing it for years. And make no mistake: this will be a tough race.

In the last 24 hours, I’ve heard from so many people across Virginia sharing personal stories about their hopes for the future.

We’re still getting this campaign up and running, and I’d like to ask if you can contribute $20 or $30 as a Founding Donor.
