At this very moment, the House GOP, led by Speaker Mike Johnson, is threatening a government shutdown. They’ve had months within their own majority party to come to an agreement and fund the government, but here they are, holding our democracy and basic functions of our government hostage.

American families need and deserve leaders who do the job we were sent to Washington to do, instead of those playing political games with their power. It’s clear this can only be remedied by taking the majority back from the Chaos Caucus.

We have a responsibility to put Americans’ interests and needs first, and I take that seriously, but from the moment we were sworn into this Congress, we have gone from one GOP crisis or political spectacle to another. Enough is enough.
