*Electronic filing requirements for information returns*

The Electronic Filing Requirements for Specified Returns and Other Documents [ [link removed] ], was published in February 2023 by the Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service. These regulations reduce the 250-return threshold to generally require electronic filing by filers of 10 or more returns in a calendar year beginning in 2024 for tax year 2023.

The final regulations reflect changes made by the TFA 2301 to increase e-filing without undue hardship on taxpayers.
