1) California Charges Families Twice as Much in Taxes as Florida and Delivers WORSE Services

That’s the question that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis should ask California Governor Gavin Newsom when they debate in a few weeks. As we’ve documented in the Hotline in recent weeks, California has worse schools, more crime, more homelessness, and higher poverty.

As the chart below shows, the only state that might be more financially incompetent is New York.

Where does all the tax money go in California, Gavin?

2) Joe Is Selling  “Bidenomics” – But Voters Aren’t Buying It

Back in June, President Biden made a strategic decision to own the term “Bidenomics” and make it the centerpiece of his re-election campaign.

The media has bought this narrative hook, line, and sinker. Unfortunately for Joe, the voters aren’t biting.

A new poll by the Financial Times and the University of Michigan finds that a mere 14% of Americans believe they are better off financially now than when Biden took office. Almost 70% percent of voters thought Biden’s economic policies had either hurt the US economy or had no impact.

“Every group — Democrats, Republicans, and Independents — list rising prices as by far the biggest economic threat,” says Erik Gordon of the University of Michigan. Half of Americans say they’ve reduced spending on necessities.

These results confirm that even though the overall inflation rate is down from 9% last year to about 4% now, the prices of necessities — including groceries, gas, rent, and mortgages — are still rising much higher than that.

3) Biden Family Victimized by Washington’s Crime Spree

Is no one safe in America’s capital anymore? On Sunday Secret Service agents protecting President Biden’s granddaughter opened fire on three men breaking into their unoccupied SUV in the upscale neighborhood of Georgetown in Washington, D.C. on Sunday.

What a black eye for America. What’s next, carjackers raiding the President’s limo in the middle of his motorcade down Pennsylvania Avenue?

When will Democrats wake up to the fact that the nation’s capital has become a war zone with 6,000 stolen vehicles this year and violent crime up over 40 percent since 2022 in the city? Blacks are the principal victims of these crimes.

Last month, Texas Democratic Representative Henry Cuellar had his car stolen at gunpoint and back in February Rep. Angie Craig, a Minnesota Democrat, was assaulted in the elevator of her apartment building.

Earlier this year 173 House Democrats voted against a bill to ban a DC Council act that would have reduced punishments for violent crimes, including carjackings. Are Democrats running as the pro-crime party?

4) EV Battery Recharging Costs the Equivalent of $17 a Gallon

Let’s see if we have this straight: Uncle Sam pays the automakers billions of dollars to produce EVs. Then they write a check for $7,500 to consumers who buy an EV and many states kick in up to another $5,000. Now, the government is paying to charge the batteries for the rich people who buy EVs.

On the pages of the NY Post and on the air of Fox Business, CTUP economist EJ Antoni had this alert:

Including the charging equipment, subsidies from governments and utilities and other frequently excluded expenses, the true cost of charging an EV is equivalent to $17.33-per-gallon gasoline — but the EV owner pays less than 7% of that.

Over 10 years, almost $12,000 of costs per EV are transferred to utility ratepayers and taxpayers, effectively socializing the price of recharging an EV while keeping the benefits private.

This is socialism for the rich: a transfer of costs from higher net-worth individuals to middle- and lower-income taxpayers.

5) Remember the Famous Claim That 99% Of Scientists Believe In Manmade Climate Change? It’s a Hoax!
In 2021 the climate change hysterics trumpeted the findings of a journalist named Mark Lynas who claimed that his survey of the abstracts of 3,000 studies found that over 99% of climate scientists believed mankind had caused all or most global warming.

This was when the left declared a “scientific consensus” and dismissed any skeptics as “deniers.”

Now these deniers are tired of being bullied and coming out of their “cone of silence." We reported last summer that Nobel Physics Prize winner Dr. John Clauser — who questions climate models — has been dismissed as a crank.

But now Israeli scientists led by Yonatan Dubi, Professor of Chemistry and Physics at Ben Gurion University, have found massive flaws and biases in the Lynas conclusions.

First, Lynas assumes that all papers taking ‘no position’ on manmade global warming agree that it is the major factor in rising temperatures. That’s quite bold and dishonest.

Worse, the authors found that the major science journals make it almost impossible and unwise to publish dissenting views. The “consensus” has become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

The Israeli study found that most published studies took pains to ensure their conclusions fit the consensus. In sum: “No claim for consensus can be made from the data presented in Lynas et al.”

The Israeli authors also refuted a famous 2013 study that claimed that 97% of 12,000 scientific papers endorsed the view that humans had caused most manmade global warming. In reality, only about 0.5% of the papers were found to explicitly state recent warming was mostly manmade. That’s a long long way from a 97% consensus. This is called lying with statistics.
