Puppy mills are big business in the U.S. And they’re a business that runs on cruelty.
Dogs are the product—and that’s how they’re treated. They’re kept in filthy, crowded conditions,
without enough food or water. Sick and dying dogs get little or no care. Mothers spend their entire lives
in small cages. When they’re exhausted, they’re killed and discarded.
It’s inhumane. It’s inhuman. But this is how 90% of the puppies sold in pet stores are bred. It’s shocking that this goes on. And all of us who care about animals would embrace the chance to stop the suffering.
We just did. In October, we donated to the Animal Legal Defense Fund, which will use the grant in its
fight to end the cruelty of puppy mills.
These donations are generated by our members, just by using our service. They cost nothing extra—but
they mean everything to the ALDF and the many other groups we support.
