Friend,
The occupant of the White House is a racist. He has fanned the flames of hate and his rhetoric has led to unconscionable acts of violence.
At the hands of white supremacist terrorists -- emboldened by racist rhetoric -- babies, mamas, tias, and soccer coaches were murdered this week in El Paso, Dayton, and Chicago.
Long gone are the days where politicians can send thoughts and prayers and turn their backs on the victims and survivors.
Now is the time for action.
I know in the face of this cruelty and hatred we can feel helpless. But I want to remind you that we are powerful.
Earlier this year, I was proud to co-sponsor and help the House pass critical gun violence prevention bills that would save lives. Since February, those bills have been sitting on Mitch McConnell’s desk.
