When I was a child, my mother founded the first chapter of the National Organization for Women in Broward County, Florida.

I spent my childhood canvassing alongside her for the Equal Rights Amendment and abortion rights. Today, I continue fighting for those rights and more alongside my own daughter, Rachel.

With multiple generations of my family woven into their history, it is an honor to receive an endorsement from the National Organization for Women for my bid for Congress.

Having grown up with a mother who marched and fought for abortion access in the ’70s, I took it for granted that my daughter would grow up with more rights than she had. But today far-right lawmakers are waging a war on women.

I’m determined to go to Washington to restore the protections of Roe v. Wade for all the women who before me dedicated their lives to that movement. I will not rest until my daughter, and all our daughters, have the right to reproductive choice.
