Winning Candidate Tim Barnes
Tim Barnes was reelected
to Lafayette City Council with over 20% of the vote with seven
candidates running for five seats.
Concerns about climate change brought him
to the Green Party and he is the only green serving on the council.
During his campaign he knocked on a lot of doors and went to where
people gravitated to hear what their concerns were, which included
infrastructure and housing. Building community and breaking down
barriers were key to his success.

Winning Candidate Gloria Caballero-Roca
Gloria Caballero-Roca
was elected to the School Committee, Holyoke Public Schools, Ward 4 in
Massachusetts with over 82% of the vote.
The office intersects with housing,
infrastructure, quality of life and social justice. It’s a community
position and the election was a collaborative effort from people who
live and work in her district. People were very receptive to her
campaign message and the Green Party has given her the space to be
herself and to be heard.

Winning Candidate Fred McCann
Fred McCann was reelected unopposed to the
Portland, Maine Water District Board of Trustees with 100% of the
vote.
The socialized water district serving
Portland replaced a poorly functioning private one and is very popular
and has worked very well. Fred’s service on the board enables him to
give back to his community and he recommends running for local office
to anyone who has a desire to serve their community.
