When it comes to laws on marijuana, Texas is behind the times. 

Over 21,000 people are currently in prison for possession of marijuana. These are folks whose only crime was having a substance that is perfectly legal in multiple states. 

Current laws not only send people to prison who don’t deserve to be there, they also prevent the use of marijuana by people who would medically benefit from its effects. 

This is a grave injustice, John. If you agree that Texas needs to catch up with the rest of the nation when it comes to cannabis laws, will you add your name now?

As a lawyer, I’ve spent my entire career fighting for justice. And as a legislator, I’ve fought for better healthcare policy for ALL Texans. I’ve helped craft multiple bills on Marijuana reform, including:

• A bill to decriminalize marijuana altogether
• A bill allowing veterans with PTSD to be treated with marijuana
• A bill allowing Texans with chronic pain to use marijuana rather than opiates for pain management
• A bill that expands the Compassionate Use Program 

I’ve spent my career both in the courtroom and the legislature, fighting for what’s right. It’s a fight I’ll continue when I’m elected to Congress.
