"Government shutdown looms as new speaker struggles to control hardliners"

BREAKING: Government shutdown looms as new speaker struggles to control hardliners

Here we go again, john.

The deadline to fund our government is coming up this Friday, again. Speaker Mike Johnson only just unveiled his short-term plan to keep our government open – and extreme House Republicans are already planning to reject it.

We can't afford a government shutdown. Here in Washington state, a shutdown would affect more than 54,526 civilian federal employees and more than 62,100 active-duty service members. There's absolutely zero reason for this constant brinkmanship.

While Kim remains committed to working with lawmakers in both parties to fund our government and prevent a shutdown, House Republicans have repeatedly shown they can't be trusted to govern.

This is why this chaos can't be allowed to happen again, which is why we must win back the House next year.

Before our mid-month deadline, will you chip in $5 or whatever you can afford to ensure Kim has the resources she needs to keep WA-08 blue?
