At Real Good Fish we believe whole-heartedly that food tastes better when you know the people and story behind it and that it was raised with care and consideration for the animal, the planet, and the consumer.
That's why today we want to share with you more about PT Ranch, a family owned and operated regenerative ranch, who has beautifully and thoughtfully raised our flock in the Sierra foothills. Molly Taylor, who's parents own the ranch, is the Ranch Manager and leading the charge to return California's rangeland back to a healthy, productive landscape, starting in their own backyard.
Get your PT Ranch turkey below and learn more about Molly and her hard work and bold vision.
Turkeys will be delivered direct to your door, Monday Nov 20th or Tuesday Nov 21st. Thank you!

Molly's Vision and Commitment
When the Taylors, along with their ranch dog, Ozzy, took over Molly's grandfather's ranch in Amador County, California the land was depleted, which Molly says is true for about 99% of California's rangeland. “They are dominated by low-quality annual forages, highly compacted, and host to lots of invasive weeds.”
Over the past 5 years they have been converting the ranch to the thriving ecosystem it is today. "We immediately stopped the use of herbicides, synthetic fertilizers, and tillage and started managing our grazing, integrating different types of livestock and using cover crops,” Molly explains. Their work has had tremendous impact already, and as we've seen with ocean habitat and systems when you work with nature and give it the space and ability to restore, it responds in a remarkable fashion.
Along with their vision, hard work, and love for the land comes a commitment to systems and data, so their claims and efforts can be demonstrated and, ultimately, replicated across ranches nationwide to help combat climate change.
The Taylors are also raising pigs, sheep, vegetables, and do small productions of olive oil, honey and lavender.

The Best Turkey You Will Find
These turkeys are free-range, grazing on perennial native grasses. They are raised slowly and naturally, resulting in a juicy and flavorful turkey. These breeds will have a larger breast and more white to dark meat ratio making them most similar to a traditional Thanksgiving turkey. We recommend 1.5 lbs per guest if you also want leftovers.
Our favorite way to enjoy the PT Ranch turkey is with an overnight brine with lots of citrus peels and fresh herbs foraged from the Lovewell farm! It comes out so beautiful, flavorful, and juicy. Truly the centerpiece of a special Thanksgiving table.
