According to a newly released report, the expiration of critical public assistance programs initially launched to combat the economic fallout of COVID-19, has led to a surge in poverty rates that disproportionately impacts low-income families, communities of color, and children.

Programs such as the expanded Child Tax Credit and expanded SNAP benefits were a lifeline during the pandemic drastically, reducing poverty. But Republicans would rather erode years of progress than provide American families with the help they need.

The evidence is clear: These programs helped millions during our darkest times, significantly diminishing poverty rates and bridging racial divides. By allowing them to expire, we are actively dismantling the safety net that has held up millions of Americans. We know what's possible when we prioritize the needs of vulnerable populations. It's time to stop favoring the rich and help those who need it most.

Sign the petition: Stop the rollback on poverty reduction and racial equity. Renew pandemic-era public assistance programs.
