Lower property taxes for everyone by supporting a tiny increase of 2 cents more per dollar over 1 million. This money can go to our schools, which often makes up the largest portion of our property taxes in NJ. Send a letter to your state legislators in support of this today. ([link removed])

** Take Action!
------------------------------------------------------------
* Action Together Union County ([link removed]) has a lot of activities in the planning for this summer, but almost all of them will be at private residences, so they won't be announced on the public page. If you're interested in joining their private Facebook group, message them at the page linked above.
If you're in another county and looking for like minded people near you, reach out to our state Facebook page ([link removed]) and let them know where you live and what email address you use with Facebook and they'll see if there's a local private group nearby that you can join.

* Interested in getting rid of "The Line" in NJ primary elections? Sign this petition here ([link removed]) to join the growing number of activists looking to change this in New Jersey. Then visit this Facebook page ([link removed]) , or check our Events section below to find rallies across the state.

* Liberty State Park, a public park in Jersey City, has long been targeted by people trying to privatize it to make a profit. Join Friends of Liberty State Park & NY/NJ Baykeeper and sign this petition in support of the Liberty State Park Protection Act ([link removed]) .

* Join Clean Ocean Action on April 25th ([link removed]) for their Spring Beach Sweeps clean up. There's over 70 locations to pick from and you get to spend a satisfying day making a difference with other environmentally inspired people.

** Good News in New Jersey
------------------------------------------------------------
* Progress is being made on getting bias training for NJ medical professionals to help them be aware of and reduce ([link removed]) racial and cultural prejudices ([link removed]) . Maternal health care is the first focus, but some legislators are hoping to spread it to other areas of medicine too.

* ATNJ-Education Fund ([link removed]) is here to help New Jersey as a "... non-partisan, non-profit advocacy group to educate residents on vote-by-mail as a way to reduce barriers for low-income communities, as well as communities of color and New Jerseyans with disability ([link removed]) ."
