Dear Friend,

I’m sure you’ve heard of my unwavering commitment to combat the injurious effects of what I call the confluence of "Guns & Google" ( [link removed] ). I'm excited to announce that Senator Mark Warner has become a powerful ally in this fight. He has sent a demand letter ( [link removed] ) to the Federal Trade Commission on my behalf and for the countless others who have suffered due to Google and Meta.

In his words:

"It has been over three years since Mr. Parker and the Georgetown University Law Clinic filed their first complaint regarding this case, and Mr. Parker continues to endure harassment as a result of the videos remaining on these platforms. Given the practices outlined above, I ask that your agency consider all possible avenues to ensure that companies like Google and Meta uphold their Terms of Service, not only in Mr. Parker’s case but also in other instances where their platforms may host violent and harmful content."

In my recent Substack essay ( [link removed] ) I provide a primer on Section 230, the culprit that allows these platforms to get away this abuse. This struggle is reminiscent of a modern-day David vs. Goliath battle, where my aim is to hold Google, Meta, and Twitter (X) accountable for their dangerous and disgraceful behavior. As history has shown, sometimes David does emerge victorious. Senator Warner's assistance marks a significant first step, but it's clear that a sustained lobbying effort is required to achieve our ultimate goals. We have the means in Warner’s SAFE TECH bill ( [link removed] ), and I am engaged in a bipartisan effort to secure its passage.

It's been over eight years since my daughter Alison was tragically gunned down on live television and knowing that videos of her death can still be found on social media platforms is gut-wrenching. Countless others endure the same pain because of what has happened to their loved ones.

Today, I‘m asking you to take that extra step and support my lobbying efforts through a contribution ( [link removed] ) to the Andy’s Fight ( [link removed] ) 501(c)(4). Once SAFE TECH becomes law, we can shift our full attention to passing common-sense gun legislation, such as universal background checks and bans on assault-style weapons and high-capacity magazines.

Help me cross the finish line. For your family. For Alison.

With profound gratitude,

Andy
